Game reporting is coming to an end figure

We're going to remove game reporting from the site. There are already plenty of alternatives that were much further along than ours, and we simply don't have the time to keep working on it.

The gaming page currently says that compatibility and performance submissions are paused while we update how reports are collected and displayed. That message no longer reflects our plans. We've decided to stop the feature.

Why we're stopping

Other services already offer more developed ways to share and look up game compatibility and performance reports. Catching up would take a lot of work, and with so many options available, we don't see enough reason to keep building our own. The other reason is time. We no longer have enough of it to give game reporting the attention it needs. Even if we kept going at the pace we could manage, we'd fall further behind as other services continued adding new features. The gap would keep growing. Leaving it waiting for an update we can't commit to doesn't feel right, so we're being upfront about the decision. We'll gradually delete the existing report data over the coming weeks as we wind down the feature.

Thank you to everyone who tried it or submitted a report. If you used this part of the site, we're sorry to be taking it away, but we don't want to keep you waiting for a return that isn't planned.
